Hi, here are my zigzag settings.. my sewing machine is a very economic one so I think that most of the problems comes from that.. sometimes it skippes the points and sometimes it doesn’t make the fabric avance in the same way 😞😞 and probably also the bad quality mesh 😞
Yes, a bad seam can be caused by the quality of the sewing machine, the quality of the mesh, and, importantly, the quality of the thread. Often times, bad threads can be the cause of skipped stitches. In our workshop we only use Gutermann threads, also good threads of Madera, Amann Mattel brands. When we tried to switch to cheaper thread, we immediately noticed a significant decline in the quality of the applique.

I prefer 2x3 variant.

In order for the seam not to tighten the fabric, it is necessary to stretch the fabric a little while making the seam, as if by creating a slight twist on the machine to pull the fabric.

Thank you very much for the advices. I bought today gutter man threads and it works definitely in a better way. When I bought the other threads I was attract by the variety of colors they sold in a box, with a third of the price of the gutterman threads, but I realized now that it was a big mistake. Will use them only to repair old socks 🙈
